May 2009 - Jose Valentino Ruiz was selected the College Soloist Winner for TWO categories by the prestigious DOWNBEAT Magazine student awards: Classical (flute) and Blues/Pop/Rock (flute, saxophone, EWI, bass)! (Downbeat June 2009 issue)
Kim McCormick, Jose's flute teacher, shared the news with him the night before graduation.
Jose rocks!...and gives all the glory to God!
