A passion for relevancy and for equipping students to thrive in the music industry...

As a college professor, Dr. Ruiz served as Instructor of Record (2013 - 2016) for numerous undergraduate and graduate courses in commercial music subjects (i.e., album production, Latin American music ensemble, ethnodoxology, progressive methods in music education, innovation musicianship ensemble, implementing creativity in worship, creative performance chamber ensemble, sabbatical replacement for applied flute lessons) at University of South Florida - a preeminent research I university.

From August 2016 to May 2019, Dr. Ruiz transition to Cleveland, TN to serve as Assistant Professor of Music Business, Production, and Jazz & Lee University - a comprehensive private liberal arts institution.

In August 2019, Dr. Ruiz transitioned back to Florida to become the Director & Assistant Professor of Music Entrepreneurship at University of Florida - an AAU preeminent research I university.
